Effect of Four Fertilizers on Vegetative Grwoth of Phalaenopsis Hybrid

Abstract
This study was carried out to shorten cropping season and to increase growth of Phalaenopsis by determining proper fertilization method. Leaf area increased highly in Hyponex (6.5N-4.SP-19.0K) application, but number of leaves and roots and total root length showed no difference compared to Magamp-K (6N-40P-6K) and bean-compound fertilizer (8N-14P-12K). Total growth of organic liquid fertilizer (5N-4P-6K) reduced compared to other fertilizers. The contents of N, P, K in leaves and roots were high in application of Hyponex and Magamp-K, and especially P and K contents were high in the application of Magamp-K. Fructose and glucose contents made no difference by the type of fertilizers, but higher sucrose content was obtained in Magamp-K treatment. Organic liquid fertilizer reduced sucrose content.
